Return Records Appoints Its' New Board of Directors Members
Return Records is excited to name the first class of the members to its' Board of Directors. The label's Board of Directors is an informal group of pioneers, influencers, and leaders in the music and business communities that contribute to help guide the label's financial and operational progress, and provide consulting and mentorship opportunities to the label's artists. The role of the board is largely a symbolic one, where members enjoy participation in semi-annual meetings, long-term stock options, vendor selection, tax incentives, and access to special events, shows, and corporate functions. Some of the inaugural members of the label's board include:
Jonathan Sherman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Jonathan Sherman brings nearly a decade of experience in the music industry as a jazz pianist, record producer, label executive, and industry consultant. His works have been signed to numerous independent labels in the US and Europe, and he has toured across the US playing at iconic music venues with Grammy-nominated artists from NYC to Las Vegas.
Elena Kaufman, Chief Financial Officer (CFO): Ellie Kaufman brings considerable financial planning and accounting experience from her years as a newscaster for federal agencies and government regulators. Ellie’s work has been published on CNN, The Huffington Post, Vox, Quartz, Fast Company, Mic, and the New York Times. Ellie graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2013 with a B.A. in English Literature and Hispanic Studies.
Arian Beckwith, Chief Operating Officer (COO): Arian Beckwith is a skilled marketing and communications specialist that has spent his career building support across diverse communities by identifying the right venues, platforms, and forums for them to thrive in. He is a skilled grassroots advocate that strives to advance the label’s operational capacity and partnerships. Arian has spent many years on Capitol Hill as a senior policy advisor and international program advocate.
Genesis Parker, Chief Creative Officer (CCO): Genesis Parker brings more than 9 years in consumer goods and confection design to the label. As a chocolatier by trade, Genesis makes it her mission to give every artists’ release the joy and love it deserves by helping artists develop a unique brand and approach. Genesis brings releases to life with her wide breath of design and creative experience.
Lachlan Sforcina, Senior Advisor: Lachlan Sforcina is an Australian rapper and vocalist living in the US that provides the label with a keen understanding of urban music, a strong background in songwriting, and wide network of musicians and producers from Coast-to-Coast. Lachlan has worked with artists both in North America and the Middle East, and focuses his expertise in the blending of poetry and rhythm, helping the label make its’ mark on the global music community.

Update: Genesis Parker has since assumed a role as the label’s A&R Representative and Lachlan Sforcina has left the Board of Directors to pursue a career as an independent artist with the label.
